Feedback

Feedback For The Learning Of Others

What type of feedback is this: Warm and Cool Feedback.
This is feedback is on Patiences blog about Dissection.

I think that this could of had a bit more detail of what you did while taking your pulse and listening to your heart beat. one thing that I liked about this learning story was the fact that you added how you were feeling when Grace cut open the heart.

What type of feedback is this: 2 stars and a wish
This is feedback in on Jorja's blog about Immersion - Blood Cells

I love how you have added the photo it makes it more visible for me to know what you are doing. I also like how you have put: What you did, What you learnt, and the next opportunities/possibilities for your learning. Next time you could add a bit more detail in the learning story like what better equipment you could use and a bit more detail on what you learnt. Other than that this is a really good learning story.

What type of feedback is this: Warm and cool feedback
This feedback is on Irina's blog about Sketching

I like the way you have what this immersion helped you with and new possibilities and opportunities. Next time you could put in more possibilities in your learning story.

Learning Story - Immersion Gardening

Learning Experience/Process:

  • What stood out in this learning Experience/Process: In this learning experience the things that stood out for me the most was these three things. The thing that most stood out for me was knowing what grew in the school vegetable gardens and learning about the weeds and which ones to pull out and which ones not to. The second thing that stood out for me in this workshop was learning what you can put in a worm farm and which things that cannot be put in there. The last thing that I thought stood out for me was that gorse was actually used as a hedge plant in Scotland and when moved to New Zealand, with the change of weather and the climate it is now a spiky weed when it is planted in New Zealand.

What I Learnt:

  • What did I learn during this process: During this process I have learnt how to plant a radish seed and how much sun and water it needs, also that it needs 4-8 weeks to grow and needs quite a little bit of space to grow. Also I have learnt that some weeds are important to the plants growing around them but some are not good and can be ripped out of the dirt as the plants around them don’t need them.

Next Steps:

  • What will you do to enhance/extend this learning: To enhance/extend this learning I will complete the quiz that we were given at the workshop. Also I might plant some flowers and veggies at home to extend this learning.

  • How will you deepen your understanding in this learning: To deepen my understanding towards this gardening workshop I will try to research some more on how to garden and the importance of keeping plants alive. Also I will take that research and use it to grow my own plants and vegetables.
Learning Story - Immersion Kitchen Chemistry

Learning Experience/Process:

  • What stood out in this learning Experience/Process: During this learning experience/process the thing that stood out for me the most is that you can use milk and lemon juice to make indian cheese, it was really interesting to know that just two ingredients can make something like cheese. Also something that stood out to me is the different type of chemical reactions that happen when using different ingredients. The last thing that really stood out for me was that some of the ingredients didn’t create a chemical reaction when put together.

What I Learnt:

  • What did I learn during this process: In this process one of the things i learnt is that not every experiment makes a chemical reaction that only certain ingredients mixed together makes a chemical reaction. Another thing i learnt during this immersion workshop was that working with younger kids is just as fun as working with my friends.

  • What learning happened here: The learning that happened here for me was to use a hypothesis to predict whether the ingredients we put together would create a chemical reaction or not. Some other learning that happened here was by mixing vinegar, any type of oil and a flavour like garlic or soy sauce to make a simple salad dressing.

Next Steps:

  • What will you do to enhance/extend this learning: To enhance/extend this learning in my spare time i will research some more chemical reactions and do them myself to see if there's anything else that could create a chemical reaction, and which one ( eg.bubbly, rising etc).

  • How will you deepen your understanding in this learning: To deepen my understanding in this learning i will start to research more about how the reaction takes place and what is needed to make the reaction
Learning Story -  Beach Education Trip

Learning Experience/Process

  • What stood out in this learning experience/process: The thing that stood out the most for me was how rips work and what they are for. Something else that stood out for me was that lifeguards have a pretty hard job having to save people's lives everyday. Also another thing that stood out for me was how to be safe on the beach and what to do when you are at a beach to stay safe from the sun and the water

What I Learnt

  • What did I learn during this process: In this process I learnt how to rescue others with the rescue tube that are stuck and cant get out of the water without help. Also I learnt about what the rips do and what to do if you find yourself in one. We learnt about how to stay calm if you are in a rip and stay between the flags and you won’t find yourself in a rip in the first place. Another thing I learnt was all the surf safety rules, like what to do at the beach to stay safe from the sun and also to stay safe from drowning in the water. Also something that I learnt was what

Next Steps

  • What will you do to enhance/extend this learning: To enhance/extend this learning I could research more into rips and more ways to find them. Also to enhance/extend this learning I could research more into the way lifeguards save people and what equipment is crucial for lifeguards to save people with. Another thing I could do to enhance/extend this learning is join the nippers club to learn more about surf safety and to learn more about how to be safe and still have fun at the beach.
